Carol Innes – Female Employee Spotlight of November

Employee name: Carol Innes
Role at company: Office / Account Manager, Ottawa franchise
Direct quote from the employee: "Treat others as you would like to be treated."

What do you do at our company?
I make sure that the office operates efficiently and smoothly, and that everyone has what they need to get their jobs done.

What has been your favourite project so far?
I enjoy managing some of our customer accounts and ensuring that they are happy with our work and our services.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
I don’t need to be motivated; I truly enjoy working for Clintar Ottawa, and I enjoy going to work.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I was a tomboy when I was younger. I preferred reading MAD magazine over Seventeen (like my girlfriends). I’m also a great cook!

How do you balance your career and your family/personal life?
This one is easy for me now that my husband and I are empty nesters. I’m able to have a career and focus more on my family, travel, cooking, reading and just enjoying life!

What advice would you give to other women in the industry?
I would give women in this line of work the same advice I would give them for any other career: Enjoy what you do, and you will succeed!

What does a typical day of work look like for you?
A typical day is responding to emails, processing receipts & invoices, payroll, deposits, running reports, and making sure the office runs smoothly.

What are three words you would use to describe Clintar?

  • Positive
  • Flexible (Especially now since Covid)
  • Collaborative: Everyone is always encouraged to give their suggestions, opinions, and feedback.

What do you find most rewarding/challenging about your role?
The most rewarding part of my role is knowing that I had some, small part, in helping this franchise (Chris) reach some of his business goals in the almost 7 years that I’ve been here.

If given the chance, who would you be for a day?
I’m ok just being me!

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
My Dad, I knew a lot about my dad, but I wish I would have written down more of his stories, and things he did in his life, things that made him the man he was, not just my dad.

What would you like to be famous for?
Not famous for, but remembered for being a great person, Mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.

What inspires/motivates you?
This would definitely be my family, knowing that my 3 children are doing well, and they are great human beings is enough for me.

We hope you enjoyed learning about Carol Innes! We can’t wait to connect you to more of our wonderful team – so stay tuned.
