What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
The dynamic nature of my role is what motivates me to wake up and go to work each day. With this brings new challenges, helps me to learn continuously and gives me things to look forward to.

What do you do at our company?
I'm currently working as an Administrative Assistant. In this role I'm responsible for hiring, reviewing daily timesheets, training employees on LMN Time, keeping inventory in stock, assisting with quotes and pricing, dispatching employees for winter storm events, running errands and maintaining records and reports.

What has been your favourite project so far?
My favourite project so far has been preparing the annual report for the Smart About Salt Certification. Sections of this report include tracking the surface areas of parking lots and sidewalks for all jobsites, the number of bags of salt used, the amount of salt dispersed by salt trucks and the number of winter events this season. These components will be applied in an equation to determine the average salt application rate and must be within the Smart About Salt Council (SASC) standards to obtain the certification.

What's something most people don't know about you?
Something most people don't know about me is that I was on the competitive rowing team in high school and in university.

How do you balance your career and your family/personal life?
To balance career/ personal life, I consciously allot specific times to rest and give myself permission to disconnect when I need it.

What advice would you give to other women in the industry?
Learn to build your self-confidence and belief in yourself and you will move mountains.

What does a typical day of work look like for you?
Mornings usually consist of getting up to speed on anything that happened the previous night, reviewing timesheets, answering / sending e-mails, updating my list of to-dos and setting priority items for the day.

Afternoons involve running interviews, contacting crews their shift start times, carrying out administrative tasks in the office, answering phone calls, running errands, and supporting my team where needed.

What do you find most rewarding/challenging about your role?
What I find most rewarding about my role is by the end of each day I feel a sense of accomplishment.

If given the chance, who would you be for a day?
If I was given the chance, I would want to be an Olympic Speed Skater for a day.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
If I could interview one person, it would be Freddie Mercury. I find Freddie very inspiring because he was unapologetically authentic and never let the opinions of others get in the way of his goals and dreams. I’d love to be in his presence and learn how to be as brave as he was.

What would you like to be famous for?
I would like to be famous for being a compassionate leader.
