Kendra Sullivan - Female Employee Spotlight of November

Employee name: Kendra Sullivan
Role at company: Crew member, Vaughan Franchise
Direct quote from the employee: "Don't give up just because something was hard, you will get through it, and you will see how strong you really are."

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
What motivates me to get up and go to work is the fact that I get to be outside the whole day.

What do you do at our company?
I'm a crew member so it depends on what crew I'm on. Sometimes I could be cutting grass and other days it can be planting plant materials, or taking care of the flower beds for our customers.

What has been your favourite project so far?
I don't have a specific project that's my favourite. Any project that I get to plant would be my favourite partially because I love playing in dirt and the other part being that when you come back later in the season you get to see it blooming.

What's something most people don't know about you?
Most people don't know that I have graduated from college with a degree in Interior decorating and plan on going to school for Interior Design and then once I finish that, I want to go to school for Architecture.

How do you balance your career and your family/personal life?
I balance my career and personal life by leaving work at work and once I get home all my attention is focusing on things that matter to me outside of work.

What advice would you give to other women in the industry?
It's going to be hard, but you can do anything you set your mind to, and it will be rewarding.

What does a typical day of work look like for you?
Once I get in, the day consists of finding out what crew I am on, what sites we will be going to, and what we will be doing at each of the sites, getting all the tools we will need for the day into the truck and then heading off to our sites for the day.

What are three words you would use to describe Clintar?
Challenging, fun, welcoming

What do you find most rewarding/challenging about your role?
The most rewarding part would be seeing how good your work looks after you finish.

If given the chance, who would you be for a day?
If I could be anyone for a day, it would Oprah Winfrey because she's partially success just for simply helping people in need.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
If I could interview one person, it would be my great grandfather. I never got to meet him, but I've heard lots of stories from my family. He was originally from Ireland, he fought in World War 1 and then came to Canada so it would be great to hear some of the things he's been through.

What would you like to be famous for?
I would want to be famous for inspiring and helping other women succeed and for running a successful Interior Design Business.

What inspires/motivates you?
What inspires me is seeing how far I have come over the past year.
