Robin Rego – Female Employee Spotlight of December
Employee name: Robin Rego
Role at company: Office Administrator, Kitchener Franchise
Direct quote from the employee: "Sometimes you don’t realize your own strength until you come face to face with your greatest weakness” - Susan Gale
The people I work with and our customers. After being with Clintar Kitchener for almost 17 years they’ve become my second family.
What do you do at our company?
I am the Office Administrator. I handle all the payables, receivables and everything customer related. I help to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible in the office.
What has been your favourite project so far?
Don’t have one.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
There isn’t much people don’t know about me, I’m pretty much an open book – just ask 😊
How do you balance your career and your family/personal life?
When I started working here my daughter was only 3 years old – she too has grown up knowing everyone that I work with and them her. Jim has always been really amazing at allowing me to take care of her when needed and I even bring her into the office on those horrible snow days. Balancing both has never really been a problem. Clintar Kitchener is a very family oriented place of work.
What advice would you give to other women in the industry?
Don’t really have any advice.
What does a typical day of work look like for you?
There is no “typical day” here at Clintar. You can start out with a plan but always have to prepare yourself for that plan to not always follow through. When the Managers or the customers need something that will always come first to my “typical day”.
What are three words you would use to describe Clintar?
Family, Growth, Unpredictable (in a good way 😊.)
What do you find most rewarding/challenging about your role?
Being able to help our customers with their requests in a very timely manner. They’ve become used to me always being here when they need something and knowing that I will take care of them to the best of my ability.
If given the chance, who would you be for a day?
I don’t think that I would want to be anyone else for a day. I like my life as it is, even with the difficult days – those are the ones that make you stronger.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Princess Diana. I have always admired her courage and strength. I would ask her about all the humanitarian work she has done and continues to do through her sons and how she chose those particular organizations. I would ask how she managed to persevere through all the negative press and rumours and still be as courageous and kind as she was.
What would you like to be famous for?
Being the best mom that I can be – it’s been my most rewarding role in life.
What inspires/motivates you?
My Mom – she battled so much illness and pain since I was a young child and never complained or wanted pity from anyone. She always had a smile on her face and was the first one to step up to any challenge, no matter how much pain she was in. She put everyone else first and was always there to help out anyone, especially her children & grandchildren. She taught me how to be a great mom and I will forever be grateful for having the privilege of calling her My Mom.
